Objective: 

The course will enable the students to understanding and exposure on fitness management, fitness training facilities and weight management , designing the fitness training programme from different categories i.e. physiology, kinesiology, and nutrition and recovery.

CO 15: Evaluate and predict in which complex interaction of components of the food system influence human health and nutrition. 

 

CO 16: Design to improve and maintain personal fitness associated with health and skill related components.

 

CO 17: Explore Fitness industry include personal trainer, fitness instructor, health coach, nutritionist athletic and fitness management

  • Factors affecting Physical Fitness and Concept of Fitness management in modern scenario
  • Prominent health problems associated with inactivity.
  • Qualification and qualities of fitness trainer

Nutrition management

 

  • Nutrition – Daily caloric requirements and daily energy expenditure, Supportive

Nutrients.

  • Muscle and exercise Basics
  • Muscle Adaptation to strength and endurance exercise.
  • Hormonal adaptation to acute and chronic exercise.
  • Nutrition consumption before, during and after exercise.         
  • Role of nutrition in exercise.
  • Muscle carbohydrate and fats utilization
  • Carbohydrate and fats consumption before, during & after exercise.
  • Water recommendation for athletic performance.

Fitness Exercises. (Practical I)

 

  • Meaning and types of exercise
  • Warming up, and Cooling  Down
  • Free hand exercise
  • Aerobic and Anaerobic exercise:
  •   Calisthenics and Swiss ball exercise

Designee of Fitness Programme (Practical II)
  • Means of Fitness development:
  • Flexibility Training  and Stretching
  • Resistance Training and Balance Training       
  • Agility and Speed Training
  • Barbell Training: (Squats, deadlifts, bench presses, overhead presses, and barbell rows.    
  • Designing fitness progamme for different age group (Children, Adults and old age)
  • Visit of Fitness Center- Location, Policy Offer of Programme, Record Keeping and Public Relation. 
  • Obesity management

Specific Fitness test (Practical III)

 

  • Concept of Free Weight Vs. machine, sets and repetitions, variation of sets
  • Supervision and evaluation (fitness test), Philips, JCR Test, Run and Walk-test , Gen Motor Fitness Test

  • Equipment and Maintenance
  • One week fitness programme , Intramurals
